A personal post – What Custom Photography is to Me – San Antonio Photographer

June 7, 2010 · 5:01 pm

Custom Photography. It’s a phrase thrown about SO much it seems. Lightly, without regard to what CUSTOM truly means.

What does custom photography mean to me? And how do I ensure your experience is a fabulous one?

It means client receives my utmost attention to every single detail. Their vision for the session, paired with mine, is considered, well thought out, and executed with care & precision. From the initial contact, my client is my priority. I happily discuss options for location – not just any old park will do! We discuss visions, investment, but most importantly, we discuss YOU. The client. What are YOU looking to receive from a session – a more traditional feel, or something more carefree, relaxed. Are you looking for indoors, our outdoors? Natural or a more funky urban approach? We’ll discuss what to wear, depending on the location. We’ll discuss how to approach the session. At the time of the session, we’ll have a great time. We’ll talk, we’ll laugh – I want you to feel like you are the only family there is! Because at that time, you are. You will have 110% of my attention. I want you to feel a warm fuzzy feeling from beginning to end! After the session, I will carefully select the photos that represent you & the vision we set for the session. They will be edited to bring out and highlight details, to provide you with family heirlooms. After the gallery is complete, we’ll get together in a comfortable environment. You will watch a slideshow of your gorgeous images, set to music. You will review your proofs and we will discuss wall display options, print options, fine art products and digital collections. When your products arrive, they will be packaged and prepared for you, with special touches to remind you just how much I enjoyed the experience. Why? Because I do! This is my job, sure. But this is also my passion! I thoroughly enjoy meeting each and every client, getting to know personalities and opinions! My business is capturing your life, one click at a time.

When you are looking for a photographer, it’s important to look past the initial investment. Look at their portfolio, see that they are a member of a professional photographer association (such as Professional Photographer’s of America or “PPA”) talk to past clients (if possible), do your research, including reading online reviews such as on Google and other search engines. With fly-by-night businesses running rampant, it’s important to do your homework and ensure that your investment is in a reputable professional registered business. Don’t fall prey to the false claims of those who promise something that seems too good to be true – it likely is. Truly CUSTOM photography is an investment. And for your investment, you will receive an experience, not just a photo session. You will receive heirlooms, treasures to last a lifetime.

I look forward to meeting you, and making you feel like a star!

Miss A – happy half birthday! San Antonio Baby Photographer

May 26, 2010 · 12:36 am

Miss A…it’s been a while! Last December I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Miss A for her newborn session, and capturing one of my all time favorite images EVER. And now, here she is again – growing like a weed (and if you live in Texas, you know our weeds can GROW!). I had a great time at this session, shooting in a new location that I can’t wait to use again!!

E & J, I hope you love the sneak peek – can’t wait to show you the rest!

Firefighter in the making! J's newborn sneak peek – San Antonio Newborn Photographer

May 25, 2010 · 11:36 pm

When J & C came to me for C’s maternity photos, we naturally got to talking about careers and whatnot and when it came out that J was a firefighter I not so secretly was happy to hear that. See, for quite a while now, I have wanted to do a particular firefighter themed setup. Badly. And J & C were all too happy to accommodate me. Without further adieu I present to you little man J – a firefighter in the making!

Enjoy the sneak peek!

I really had a hard time doing T’s maternity portrait session. Why, you ask? Because we were laughing so much it was hard to compose myself long enough to pick my camera up!! Such a great time – I was SO happy to have her at the studio with her adorable daughter and very entertaining (and handy to have around) fiance!

Hope you enjoy the sneak peek guys – I can’t wait to meet the little one!!

Lil’ Slugger…T’s Newborn Sneak Peek – San Antonio Newborn Photographer

May 24, 2010 · 10:30 pm

When T & V came with this lil’ man for his newborn portraits, one of the first things I noticed was his long fingers (we all know I love me some little baby parts…toes, fingers, lips…I’m partial to them all!). So, of course I mention he may be musically inclined when he grows up – and of course, Dad mentions he could be an athlete as well. Now, in case you don’t know, I am a big baseball fan. And I happen to have a particular affection for pitchers & catchers (I myself was a catcher when I played as a kid) – but I digress. Without further adieu, I have to introduce Lil’ Slugger. I am in love! T & V, I can’t thank you enough for choosing me to be your photographer. What a pleasure it’s been getting to know you! I can’t wait to see Lil Slugger grow to be the next Babe Ruth…or Nolan Ryan….ah, I digress again. Enjoy the sneak peek!

Almost time….San Antonio Maternity Photographer

There are some people who just light up a room when they walk in. E is one of those people…friendly smile, kind eyes and a gentle nature just make you want to be friends with her. She came to the studio for a few last minute maternity portraits before her little man makes his arrival. E and family, I hope you enjoy this sneak peek and I can’t wait to meet your little guy when he makes his arrival!

Isn't she gorgeous?

Little C has arrived! San Antonio Newborn Photographer Canyon Lake Newborn Photographer

May 20, 2010 · 6:16 pm

Lately my newborn sessions have been taking place in my San Antonio studio, but for this little guy I traveled up (down? over? I still get confused here….over a year later!) to Canyon Lake. I had a great time photographing C, who made his arrival a little over a week before his session. Full of baby love and chub, I could have stayed all day…but alas, I had to leave. But – I left with some amazing photos and a smile on my face – I couldn’t really ask for more!

Thanks N & family – it was (as it always is!) a pleasure seeing you all!

Mr O is growing up! San Antonio Baby Photographer

May 20, 2010 · 4:47 pm

Working with newborns here in San Antonio, I get used to the sweet sleeping babies…and then they grow up. Mr O first came to me at 3 months old, and now at 7 months old is really beaming with personality. As a baby photographer, I quickly learned that to really capture personality in these little guys, you have to be ready – and I mean READY – for all that spunk! I really enjoyed spending some time with O’s family this weekend, and can’t wait (already!) for our next session!

C & J, I hope you enjoy this sneak peek – and cuddle that little teddy bear for me!

Mr C has arrived! San Antonio Newborn Photographer

It has been a BUSY week for me! And, honestly, truthfully – I couldn’t be happier. I am doing what I love, enjoying the ride every step of the way. How many people can say that about their job? Life is SO good.

And I am sure it is for the R family. Mr C made his arrival and they stopped by the studio for his newborn shoot. And what a shoot it was. Some amazing stuff we captured – and here’s a little sneak peek! (LOOK AT HIS SMILE!!)

I hope you enjoy these, R family – I can’t wait to show you the rest!

Look at the smile he's giving his mama! I adore this!!

My oh my. If this little guy didn’t tug at my heart!! From his ten tiny toes, to his handsome smile, this little guy had me at hello.

His mama “A” had her maternity photos just about a month ago, and from the moment I met her I knew she was a special person. A, I am SO sad to know you are moving. I wish only the best for you and your little man! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
